Stitch In Time Club
The Stitch In Time Club was founded on the 6th March 1998 on the initiative of a few women who rather than stitching alone decided to form a group dedicated to cross stitch where the members could meet and share ideas on their favorite hobby. Today the Club boasts nearly seventy members and is not limited to Maltese people. In fact the President is Italian. Several other members have given the Club an international flavour. The Club meets every three weeks on a Friday (except for a short break during Summer). Several demonstrations and activities are organized for the members. The members do not only work on their individual projects but from time to time, some group projects are organized, the last one being motifs which where then to be attached to curtains. It's very satisfying to see the project that the group has worked on come together.
Exhibitions have been held in the past in aid of Wow! Wishing Others Well!, Dar Merhba Bik, the Eden Foundation and the Community Chest Fund. Other Fundraising activities were in aid of the Daniel Delicata Foundation and the Hosanna Pia Hostel. In 2000, a quilt stitched by members of the club was auctioned for L-Istrina. The Club has also just finished another project for the Disneyland (children's) ward in St. Luke's Hospital.
